Here is the definitive Arena Tier List (5v5 / Expedition mode) combining Generation 1 and Generation 2 heroes.

With the arrival of Generation 2, the Arena undergoes its first major evolution. While base statistics naturally increase across the board, it is the introduction of Marlin that truly defines the new meta, thanks to his devastating crowd control (CC) capabilities. Meanwhile, Zoé arrives to offer a major new defensive option for commanders looking to fortify their frontlines.

👑 Tier S: Gods of the Arena (Gen 2 Meta)

These heroes are the absolute centerpieces required to secure victories in 5v5 combat at this stage of the game.

  • Marlin (Gen 2) [The Master of Control]: He is the undisputed star of this generation in the Arena. His heavy Area of Effect (AoE) damage combined with powerful stuns can completely paralyze the enemy team. A Marlin who triggers his skill at the perfect moment practically guarantees your victory.
  • Amadeus (Gen 1) [The Eradicator]: Even in Gen 2, Amadeus remains at the absolute summit. If he is well-invested (ideally 4 or 5 stars with his exclusive equipment), his ultimate skill, "Frenzied Slash," inflicts massive damage to the entire opposing team, often wiping out enemy Epic heroes in a single sweeping blow.

⚔️ Tier A: Excellent & Highly Competitive

These heroes form the unbreakable core of your team, providing the perfect support and sustained damage to back up your S-Tier carries.

  • Hilde (Gen 2): An excellent Mythic hero boasting superior Gen 2 statistics. She provides incredibly consistent sustained damage and fits perfectly into your formation to melt through enemy tanks.
  • Howard (Gen 1) [The F2P Wall]: Still absolutely essential! He remains the best Epic (purple) tank in the entire game. His active shields are vital for your team's survival, and he often absorbs damage far better than poorly starred Mythic heroes.
  • Zoé (Gen 2) [The Defensive Alternative]: An outstanding hero for absorbing heavy impact. Her shielding mechanics allow her to support the frontline effectively, making her a perfect partner—or a direct replacement—for Howard.

🛡️ Tier B: Solid Supports and AoE DPS

Here you will find heroes who consistently get the job done, especially for Free-to-Play players, though they lack the overwhelming, devastating power of the S-Tier roster.

  • Chenko (Gen 1): She retains her crown as the best Epic DPS in the game. When positioned safely behind your tanks, her cone-based attack ("Burst Fire") deals heavy AoE damage.
  • Helga (Gen 1): She remains a highly reliable tank at this stage. Her main asset in the Arena is her stun, which helps stall enemy attacks and buys precious time for your damage dealers.
  • Jabel (Gen 1): A rock-solid tank with great baseline stats for the Gen 1/Gen 2 era. He is incredibly useful if you find yourself lacking frontline options.
  • Diana (Gen 1): Highly favored by Free-to-Play commanders. She attacks rapidly, and her moderate AoE damage actively chips away at the opposing team's overall health bar.

❌ Tier C: Unsuited for 5v5 (Gen 2 Meta)

Do not bring these heroes into the Arena; they will cost you the victory against players of equal power.

  • Saul (Gen 1): His Expedition skills lack any major impact. He brings neither the crowd control nor the AoE burst damage required to shine in 5v5 combat.
  • Amane & Yeonwoo (Gen 1): These heroes are exceptional supports for Alliance Rallies, not Arena combatants. They are far too fragile and will be instantly pulverized by Marlin or Amadeus's AoE attacks before they can cast anything..
  • Gordon, Quinn, & Fahd (Gen 1): Quinn is strictly a single-target attacker (she takes far too long to kill a single enemy compared to the sweeping AoE attacks of the current meta). Gordon, as a healer, is simply too slow; your team will often die before he gathers enough energy to cast his heal.
