Here is the ultimate Arena Tier List (5v5 / Expedition mode) combining Generation 1, 2, and 3 heroes.

With the arrival of Generation 3, the Arena meta is restructuring itself around tanks capable of surviving the increasingly heavy Area of Effect (AoE) damage. Eric emerges as the central pillar of the frontline, while Marlin continues to prove that he is the undisputed master of crowd control.

👑 Tier S: Gods of the Arena (Gen 3 Meta)

These heroes form the unbreakable backbone of the most formidable teams at this stage of the game.

• Eric (Gen 3) [The Ultimate Tank]: He is the absolute wall of this generation for 5v5 combat. His towering base statistics and elite survival skills allow him to absorb the assaults of any opposing team. He is the best possible choice for your frontline.
• Marlin (Gen 2) [The Master of Control]: In the Arena, he remains terrifying. His heavy Area of Effect (AoE) damage combined with his powerful stuns (crowd control) can completely paralyze the enemy team and turn the tide of a battle single-handedly.
• Amadeus (Gen 1) [The Eradicator]: He retains his S-Tier status on one strict condition: heavy investment (5 stars and high-level exclusive equipment). If appropriately maxed, his ultimate skill continues to inflict devastating damage to the entire opposing team.

⚔️ Tier A: Excellent & Highly Competitive

These heroes are fantastic choices that perfectly complement your teams and effectively support your S-Tier carries.

• Petra (Gen 3): An excellent damage and support hero. She fits flawlessly into the backline to assist your primary DPS heroes, leveraging her superior Gen 3 base statistics.
• Chenko (Gen 1): She holds onto her crown as the best Epic (purple) DPS in the game. When positioned safely behind a sturdy tank like Eric or Howard, her cone-based attack ("Burst Fire") wreaks absolute havoc in the enemy ranks.
• Howard (Gen 1) [The F2P God]: Still the best Epic tank. His shields are vital for team survival. Even when facing Gen 3 statistics, he remains an incredibly profitable investment and a highly reliable bulwark for Free-to-Play commanders.
• Zoé (Gen 2): A superb defensive alternative. Her shielding mechanics allow her to heavily support the frontline, making her a great option if you haven't unlocked or maxed out Eric yet.

🛡️ Tier B: Veterans, Supports, and F2P Kings

This tier houses transitional Mythic heroes and accessible Epics who consistently get the job done but are starting to show their limits against top-tier opponents.

• Jaeger (Gen 3) & Hilde (Gen 2): Very solid Mythic heroes with great baseline stats. However, their overall impact in 5v5 combat is slightly inferior to the game-changing skills of heroes like Marlin or Petra.
• Jabel & Helga (Gen 1): They remain decent tanks/controllers if you invested heavily in them early on, but they are beginning to suffer violently from the massive statistical gap compared to the newer Gen 3 heroes.
• Diana (Gen 1): Still going strong for F2P players thanks to her rapid AoE damage output.

❌ Tier C: Unsuited for 5v5 (Gen 3 Meta)

Do not bring these heroes into the Arena against Gen 3 meta teams; they will melt instantly or provide zero utility.

• Saul (Gen 1): His skills still lack the significant impact required to justify a spot in 5v5 over any other Mythic options.
• Amane & Yeonwoo (Gen 1): Complete paper targets in the Arena. They are far too fragile and will die almost instantly the moment an enemy Marlin unleashes his AoE attacks..
• Gordon, Quinn, & Fahd (Gen 1): Their Gen 1 Epic statistics are simply no longer enough. Quinn is purely a single-target attacker (making her far too slow to wipe out an enemy team), and Gordon will almost always get killed before his energy bar fills up enough to cast a heal.
