Here is the Arena Tier List (5v5 / Expedition mode) combining Generation 1 through 5 heroes.

The arrival of Generation 5 brings new pillars for the Arena, notably Vivian, who is specially designed for this mode, and Long Fei, who joins Alcar to form the ultimate defensive wall at this stage of the game.

👑 Tier S: Gods of the Arena (Gen 5 Meta)

These heroes form the strongest and most resilient composition available up to Generation 5.

  • Long Fei (Gen 5) & Alcar (Gen 4) [The Ultimate Tanks]: This is the quintessential frontline. Alcar absorbs damage divinely well, and the arrival of Long Fei with his Gen 5 stats and massive damage reduction makes your frontline virtually indestructible for previous generations.
  • Vivian (Gen 5) [The 5v5 Specialist]: Useless against the Bear hunt, she takes her true form here! The Arena is her kingdom. Her skill kit is a masterpiece of crowd control and massive damage against a 5-target team.
  • Rosa (Gen 4) & Margot (Gen 4) [The AoE Annihilators]: At this stage, they are still the absolute queens of DPS. Their raw stats and area attacks are capable of erasing the enemy backline incredibly fast.

⚔️ Tier A: Excellent & Highly Competitive

These heroes are fantastic and perfectly round out your teams if you do not have all the Tier S heroes maxed out.

  • Eric (Gen 3) [The Veteran Tank]: Although Alcar and Long Fei slightly surpass him in pure stats, Eric remains an exceptional 5v5 tank capable of surviving for a very long time.
  • Thrud (Gen 5): An excellent hero with very strong Gen 5 stats. She deals heavy damage but just lacks Vivian's little "extra" in terms of overall area-of-effect impact.
  • Marlin (Gen 2): Still the exception that proves the rule! Thanks to his heavy Area of Effect (AoE) damage and powerful stuns, he remains incredibly relevant even against Gen 5 opponents.
  • Amadeus (Gen 1): If (and only if) he is completely maxed out (5 stars, fully upgraded exclusive equipment), his ultimate skill still hits the entire opposing team with fearsome force.

🛡️ Tier B: Veterans, Supports, and F2P Kings

Here we find the mythic support heroes of past generations and the best Free-to-Play (Epic/Purple) options.

  • Petra (Gen 3), Jaeger (Gen 3), & Hilde (Gen 2): Excellent Mythic heroes, but in 5v5 combat, they are a step below the striking power of Rosa or the survivability of Long Fei.
  • Chenko (Gen 1): The king of Epic DPS. His cone-based attack ("Burst Fire") remains highly useful if he is well-positioned.
  • Howard (Gen 1): The best Epic tank in the game. His shields are always incredibly useful for F2P players.
  • Zoé (Gen 2): An excellent backup F2P tank; her shields help her absorb the damage that Epics can no longer handle.
  • Diana (Gen 1): Very strong for F2P players thanks to her AoE damage and high attack speed.
  • Jabel & Helga (Gen 1): Their Gen 1 stats now make them far too fragile against the overwhelming DPS of Generations 4 and 5.

❌ Tier C: Unsuited for 5v5 (Gen 5 Meta)

Facing optimized teams at this level, fielding these heroes will almost certainly cost you your arena matches.

  • Saul (Gen 1): His skills simply do not carry enough impact in a 5v5 setting.
  • Amane & Yeonwoo (Gen 1): They are extremely fragile targets. They will die almost instantly when faced with the AoE damage of a Rosa or a Vivian..
  • Gordon, Quinn, & Fahd (Gen 1): Their Gen 1 Epic stats are completely obsolete. Gordon will not have the time to heal, and Quinn is a single-target attacker who is far too slow against the devastating area attacks of the current meta.
