Strategic Guide: Dominating Conquest and Arena in Kingshot

While Kingshot heavily incentivizes investing in heroes primarily for Expedition mode—which accounts for roughly 80% of your total return on investment—progressing through Conquest and Arena remains crucial. These modes are your primary source for acquiring tokens and permanent rewards that will accelerate your account's overall development. Here is how to optimize your team to defeat opponents, even when they boast a significantly higher power rating than your own.
1. The Golden Rule of Stats
There is a fundamental difference between battles on the world map and those in the Arena or Conquest modes: the Lethality stat does not exist in Conquest or Arena.
Because Lethality is removed from the equation, Defense becomes exponentially more valuable in these modes. Furthermore, you must remember that only the specific "Conquest" skill line is active during these fights; your heroes' Expedition skills will provide absolutely no benefit here.
2. The Formation Meta and Positioning
In these game modes, the outcome of a battle is often decided before the first blow is even struck. Proper positioning is everything:
- The Ideal Composition (2 Tanks / 3 DPS): The most common and effective high-level strategy dictates placing 2 Tanks (Infantry) on the front line to absorb damage, while safely positioning 3 DPS (Area of Effect damage dealers) on the backline.
- Area of Effect (AoE) and Crowd Control (CC): Heroes possessing AoE attacks or control effects dictate the flow of battle. For example, Jabel’s ability to charge, knock back, and stun enemies makes her one of the top choices for disrupting the enemy's rhythm.
- Avoid the "Quick Deploy" Trap: Manually positioning your heroes to counter specific enemy threats is vital. For instance, Helga unleashes a powerful stun at the very beginning of combat. By deliberately positioning a hero like Howard directly across from her, you can use the timing of his specific abilities to perfectly counter hers.
- The Safe Zone: Combat simulations have proven that the "back-left" position of the formation is the safest location on the battlefield. Always place your most fragile or strategically important hero in this spot to maximize their uptime.
3. Gear Management for 5 Heroes
Unlike Alliance battles where only three heroes take the spotlight, Conquest requires you to field a full roster of five. This creates a severe resource management problem regarding equipment distribution.
- The 3+2 Strategy: Do not spread your resources equally across all five heroes. It is far more efficient to build 3 sets of extremely powerful gear (one for each troop type) and 2 "decent" sets, rather than fielding 5 mediocre sets.
- Beware the Forgehammer Trap: If you temporarily upgrade the equipment of your 4th and 5th heroes just to pass a difficult Conquest level, never use "Mastery Forging" on them. Unlike standard equipment experience, you will not recover 100% of the spent Forgehammers if you choose to recycle that gear later. It is a terrible loss of capital.
- Equipping the Infantry: For your frontline Tanks, concentrate all your upgrades on their Gauntlets and Breastplates. These specific pieces provide the necessary Defense and Health bonuses. Wasting resources to boost the Attack stat of a meat-shield Tank is practically useless.
4. Forcing Luck (RNG) in Conquest
Conquest mode allows you to retry levels infinitely without any penalty. This is an absolute godsend when utilizing heroes that rely on Random Number Generation (RNG) mechanics.
Certain heroes have a percentage chance to inflict catastrophic damage (such as Vivian, who has a 50% chance to double her damage output) or land critical hits (like Chenko).
If you find yourself stuck on a level where you face a severe power deficit, do not hesitate to retry the battle repeatedly. With a few "lucky rolls" of the virtual dice and well-timed critical hits in the opening seconds, the entire outcome of the battle can be inverted.
5. The Trick for Rapid Arena Farming
If you are pressed for time and need to finish your daily Arena matches before the server reset calculates the rewards, you do not actually need to watch the combat play out.
The moment the Arena battle begins, immediately click the "Retreat" button.
Because the game's code has already simulated and calculated the outcome of the battle during the loading screen, simulating a retreat will instantly grant you the final result (Victory or Defeat) without forcing you to sit through the animations. This will save you precious minutes every day.
