Introduction

Greetings, community! Generation 6 has finally arrived in Kingshot, bringing with it underlying mechanics that are more complex than ever. One of the most talked-about heroes is Yang, the snowboard-themed archer. A huge thank you to the community testers (especially Frakinator's team) who did a tremendous amount of work to extract raw data from combat reports and help us understand how the game code handles these new skills.

The Great Stat Leap

Before diving into the details of Yang, it is crucial to understand the overall evolution of Power Creep for this new era.

  • Conquest and Arena: Generation 6 heroes benefit from a 20% increase in their combat stats compared to their Generation 5 counterparts.
  • Expedition: The increase is approximately 22% for expedition stats. Due to the compounding effect of previous generations, this represents the largest stat increase in absolute terms since the launch of the game.

The Case of Yang

Yang boasts the highest base attack stat in the game at launch, making her formidable. Here is how she leverages this potential:

A. Conquest Skills (PvE/Arena)

Signature Skill (Boomerang): Unlike typical area attacks, Yang throws her weapon directly at the enemy backline, dealing damage to everything in its path (both there and back). This devastates enemy escort troops.

Internal Synergies: Her third skill gives her a 15% critical hit chance. According to testing, this is actually an "instant kill" for non-hero escort troops. Combined with the wide Area of Effect (AoE) of her signature skill and the additional attacks from her second skill, Yang cleans the battlefield at a staggering speed.

B. Expedition Skills (Rallies & PvP)

This is where Yang justifies her status. The presence of an Offensive Widget (+15% lethality for archers) clearly defines her role: Bear Hunt and aggressive PvP rallies.

  • "Every 4 turns" Bonus: Her first skill increases damage by 100% every four combat turns. While this is an excellent buff (equivalent to +25% in the long run), it does not activate during critical early turns.
  • Additive vs. Multiplicative: The second skill gives archers a 40% chance to deal 100% additional damage. Crucially, this skill is additive with the first because they share the same hidden code. On the other hand, her third skill (Ambush) is multiplicative, which causes total damage output to skyrocket.

Strategic Recommendations

Yang is currently the investment offering the best immediate return of this generation, but she does not suit all formations.

  • For Free-to-Play and Low Spenders: If you have accumulated orange shards, Yang is the hero to invest in. Since the Generation 7 archer hero (Wee & Woo) has a defensive widget, Yang will remain the best-in-slot choice for the Bear Hunt throughout Generations 6 and 7.
  • For Garrison Leaders / Whales: If you defend garrisons with a strict 60/40 (Infantry/Cavalry) format, Yang will be of no use to you since her boosts primarily target archers. Stick to your usual defensive heroes.

Conclusion

In summary, Yang stands out as the most profitable investment of this generation to instantly boost your forge hammer income during the Bear Hunt. Conversely, pure garrison defenders can ignore her and focus on Sophia or Triton. And you, what is your rally strategy for this new era? Share your own formation tests in the comments!
